If you go over its thermal limit, you will be unable to squeeze out all that extra power.

So, if your budget allows it, and you can splurge on a top-notch cooling system such as AIO liquid cooling (read more about cooling systems here), then we would definitely recommend spending the extra money to buy an Intel® Core i9-14900KS. But the 7700X is 52% cheaper than the Core i9-13900KS in today’s retail market.

It's always a good idea to juxtapose your needs (e.g., overclocking or the need for an iGPU) with the processor's designation in order to choose the model with the optimal price/performance ratio.

In October last year, Intel® released its 14th generation of desktop processors (CPUs), all based on the Raptor Lake Refresh architecture.

If you have no intention of overclocking your CPU, it's best to choose a non-K series processor. That’s only a 200MHz difference. You should be familiar with the BIOS settings of your motherboard, as that's where you'll make the necessary adjustments to both the CPU and motherboard parameters to achieve a stable overclock.

Core i9-13900KS vs i9-13900K Benchmarks

It looks like Intel did not seed any Core i9-13900KS to third-party reviewers.

Whether you lean towards Intel or AMD, at the end of the day, you can’t go wrong with either CPU as long that the CPU you choose meets your requirements and fits your budget.

Once you are in the market for processors, you will come across different models from both sides. If you're a PC enthusiast who enjoys pushing the limits of your CPU's performance beyond its standard speed, then the K series is likely the ideal choice.

Whether for gaming, streaming, content creation, or video editing, the KS processor's capabilities are unmatched among Intel processors. Check out some of the fastest graphics cards here.

As you can see from the summary table above, the F series processor has the lowest clock speeds (frequencies), but also the lowest power consumption.

Both processors feature 8 performance cores, 16 efficiency cores, and a total of 32 threads. To date, only Hardware Unboxed was able to publish a review of the Core i9-13900KS. The i3 version is also available for those who are on a tighter budget.

Cases, RAM, keyboards, headsets etc. Most notably, Its average CPU mark beats the flagship of the competition, the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, even if only by a small margin. On top of its locked multiplier, the F series also does not have integrated graphics like the KF series.

Despite not having an iGPU and the multiplier being locked, the F series processors have their advantages.

Take into account how much you can afford to spend and the value of the processor over time.
